Phil Xavier

Phil Xavier — Phil Xavier, also known as Red, began his Blizzard adventure many years ago, with such titles as Rock N' Roll Racing and Blackthorne -- but it was the one-two punch of Warcraft II and Diablo that really took hold of his nerdy heart. He is also deeply interested in other games, especially for the Switch (but without ignoring the PC and PS4), and in discussions about game design (and game-making) in general. There is a place called rcnsk.com where he writes stuff unrelated to Blizzard Watch, but the truth is that there's nothing really in there yet.

Hearthstone’s Shaman Hero Power is changing: Wrath of Air Totem is out and Strength Totem is in

The advent of the Core Set for Hearthstone will bring many changes, including cards being added or removed, cards being changed, and in one specific case, a Hero Power being slightly reworked. In the What's Next panel, Hearthstone Game Designer Alec Dawson explained that Shaman will be the class most affected by all the numerous Core Set changes.

Hearthstone’s Core set will remake the game, giving all players 235 free cards

If you were watching a BlizzCon panel for Hearthstone and they were covering today's news, one of the slides might read as such: "Basic and Classic sets: GONE!" And it's true: the Hearthstone team is overhauling the game by removing Basic and Classic sets (which are being moved to Wild mode) and adding a brand new Core Set to replace them.
