The Queue
The Queue: Panic
I am twitching.
Let’s do the best we can I guess.
The Queue: Tired again.
I am, once again, ready for a nap.
This is The Queue, where we promise we’ll stay awake long enough to answer any questions you ask.
The Queue: Time to hibernate
What happened to October? I blinked and somehow it just disappeared, which feels like a first for this year. I hope you all had safe and fun Halloweens. We didn’t even see any people out trick or treating in my neighborhood. So I spent the evening drinking a nice dark beer and watching the new show on Amazon Prime; Truth Seekers. Which was fun, if a little scattered. I don’t think it knows what kind of show it wants to be, it does have a stellar cast though! Nick Frost, Simon Pegg, Malcolm McDowell, and even Susan Wokoma — who you might recognize as the voice of Princess Talanji. There are worse ways that I could’ve spent my Halloween. The rest of the year is all downhill from here though. If only there was some way I could just sleep through it all…
While I try to hibernate for the rest of the year — it’s time for The Queue.
The Queue: Shadowlands and you
We officially know when Shadowlands will be live, which I’m sure is a big relief for a lot of us. For myself, I’m just hoping that I figure out which character I’m taking to 60 first by then — it’s a toss up between my Dwarf and Night Elf Warriors for me.
I like my Dwarf a lot but my Nelf has unfinished business this time around.
This is the Queue. Let’s talk about stuff.
The Queue: Trick or Treat?
That’s right, friendos, it’s Spooky Splatfest Season, and this weekend’s extra-long Splatfest is all about tricking. Or treating. It depends on which side you choose. This time — just like I did two years ago — I’m going with Team Trick. If we lose again, I’m gonna be so Yogg-dang peeved.
Okay, so I won’t be all that mad. Splatfests are fun, and these surprise bonus ones after the “final” Splatfest are always a… um… treat. Anyhow, let’s Queue as we think about our choices.
The Queue: Localized disaster
It has been a week, y’all. Let’s just say that in order to use the only working bathroom in my house, I have to wedge an umbrella into the area above the toilet, and it sounds like a heavy rain just breaks out from time to time for no discernible reason. I haven’t slept more than two hours at a stretch since Sunday.
Anyway, here’s the Queue.
The Queue: Impending Doom
It’s right behind me, isn’t it.
This is The Queue, where you have questions and we’re not procrastinating on anything important coming up so sure, of course, we’ll answer a few questions in laborious detail.
The Queue: The Devil you say
When I started grabbing questions on Friday I was pretty sure that I knew what I was going to talk about here. My Warlock was finally on the final stages of the Legion Order Hall, and I was going to push through that over the weekend. But then my favorite Mage friend got me a birthday present — Supergiant Games Hades. Folks, it’s fair to say that I haven’t been this captivated by a game in a long time.
I’ve played a few Roguelike games in my time, and Hades has blown them all out of the water. The pacing of the story and progression is so well tuned that I’ve never felt angry at dying while trying to escape from the Underworld. It just means that I’m on my way back to see Ms. Dusa and pet Cerberus. It also means another chance to run into Eurydice, who is voiced by the incomparable Ashley Barret. Supergiant has made some of my all-time favorite games, and I’m happy to say that they’ve done it again and then some with Hades.
While I spend another hour listening to Eurydice sing, it’s time for — the Queue.
The Queue: Big honking fist weapons
Since the Shadowlands pre-patch I’ve been working on my fist weapon transmogs, farming up The Bladefist from Highmaul, Fist of the Deity from Gundrak, and the Abomination’s Knuckles from ICC. I’m annoyed that I didn’t already have the Abom Knucks, cause I used to tank ICC with them back in the day. But apparently I forgot to keep them, which is irritating because I kept literally everything else. Luckily, they dropped for me.
The new customization options mean that I’m basically spending gold to make my characters match their outfits, so I don’t think I’ll have any money in Shadowlands but regardless I do enjoy fisting. I know the horrible connotations of that, and I don’t care, I enjoy my new fist weapon playstyle just that much.
This is the Queue. I’m filling in for Liz. Let’s do this.
The Queue: Nine days!
We are only nine days away from Halloween! Have you bought a dangerous amount of candy yet? Trick or treating may be different this year because of *gestures vaguely* everything — but at least there are bite-sized chocolate bars! I’m going to say something controversial now too… I like candy corn. I think it’s tasty.
While I’m dodging the flaming pitchforks and angry mobs, I take you now to — the Queue.
