The past weeks have been devilishly entertaining as Blizzard rolled out major portions of the long-expected Diablo 4 for public feedback.

Diablo's world of Sanctuary is a grim, unfriendly place full of wolves (also werewolves), demons, cultists, undead and the occasional blizzard to watch out for.

After the Diablo 4 early access and open beta weekends, I keep thinking about the way that the action RPG juggernaut has translated open world gameplay into its isometric oeuvre and I realized that the game has a very similar feeling to games like the original Fallout or its modern incarnations.

So it's Dragonflight patch 10.0.7, and you've learned how to get to the Forbidden Reach, you've pored over the pets and mounts of the Reach, and you've learned both what and where the Zskera Vaults are, as well as how to get keys to sneak in and loot the place.

It's a big year for Dungeons & Dragons, with a total of five new D&D books scheduled for 2023 as well as the soon-to-be-released Honor Among Thieves movie.

For connoisseurs of drake customization, there have been a lot of options for customizing the appearance of your four Dragonriding mounts so far in Dragonflight, and I do mean a lot: on top of making your mounts scalier or hairier, multitudes of colors, saddled or bareback, and with horns of every variety of swoop and turn imaginable, sometimes you can even just turn them into raid bosses (although without their stylish Christmas decorations).

You know what gaming needs? More whodunnits. While a whole lot of games ask you to find out who did the bad thing, or their motive for having done the bad thing, it’s usually secondary unless the reveal is truly shocking and splashy — see Bioshock. Usually, when we do get whodunnit games, they’re less thrilling detective work, and more disorienting eldritch horror — see Resident Evil. But straightforward murders, even straightforward serial murders, don’t tend to happen in games. But it’s such a big genre in all other media, I’m not sure why it hasn’t really caught on. Maybe because it’s less replayable?

I've been thinking more and more about the question -- "Is Diablo 4 an MMO?" -- since I currently play World of Warcraft, am pretty heavily invested in Diablo 3, was into Diablo Immortal for a couple of months there, and was just utterly charmed by the open beta for Diablo 4.
