Know Your Lore: Why Grommash Hellscream shouldn’t die

It's not just Grommash's character we're looking at here -- it's the entire state of the Horde as we know it. Did the Horde need Garrosh Hellscream? Yes, it absolutely did, and now that he's gone, there's a void left behind that could be filled, oddly enough, by his father from another reality. But before you get me wrong here, I don't mean Grommash should fill that villain role. Far from it.

WoW Patch 6.2 PTR patch notes update for April 29

A new release of patch 6.2 PTR patch note updates are now available, including several changes to professions and some tweaks to PVP. Alchemy, Fishing, Herbalism, Mining and Skinning all have new updates introduced, and all three gathering professions are now able to sometimes find Felblight, the new crafting reagent, while gathering materials in Tanaan Jungle.

World of Warcraft and minigame micromanagement

I'm on record, when we saw the introduction of pet battles, as saying 'Well, this isn't content I care about, but it's good for people who like it' because pet battles are utterly optional. The various rewards you get for pet battles only affect the pet battle minigame itself - stones and other rewards that affect the pets and how they level. There's never a reason to play pet battles if you don't enjoy the gameplay - you're never forced to do it, nor do you even feel forced to. I can say this having utterly ignored pet battles since their introduction.

Get into Diablo 3 with the basics

Three years later, despite the warnings that the Diablo franchise is the maker of computer mouse graveyards, my original 2-button mouse still lives, though I admit the plastic has worn off in two fingertip-shaped spots. I might not log into Diablo 3 every day like I do for WoW, but now at Blizzard Watch we have more space to talk about and share the game. We've got you covered (again) for learning the basics of Diablo 3.

Role Play: Tauren and age in roleplay

The tauren race is one of the more interesting prospects for roleplay, even if they might not seem like it at first glance. In the last ten years or so of Azeroth's history, the tauren have arguably seen more turmoil than any other race on Azeroth. They haven't just witnessed wars and conflict, they've uprooted their entire way of life from the ground up and watched it shift and buckle around them -- for both good and bad.

Know Your Lore: Why the Iron Horde?

One could argue that by the end of the events that play out in 6.0 and 6.1, the Iron Horde has been effectively shut down, backs against the wall, leaving them with no other apparent alternative than to turn to tactics they weren't originally going to use. But the one thing we haven't done is really look at the situation and ask ourselves -- why the Iron Horde to begin with?
