Beta

On June 24, 2006 I and my then-fiancee Julian were married in a friend’s backyard just outside of Seattle. It was a blazingly sunny day, to the point where there’s a running joke between us that the sun was a guest. In the decade since that day, many things have happened, some good, some bad, but I can honestly say that it was the best decision I ever made. I love her and I have been fortunate to have her in my life and with any luck I’ll get to say that again in 2026.

Blizzard games have been a big part of our lives together — we spent time in Azeroth when we couldn’t be together before we were married, I proposed to her during a Molten Core run, we’ve raided and moved servers and played WoW and Diablo 3 together.

This is the Queue. Not going to try and be funny or clever today. Just going to answer some questions so I can go to bed (It’s 1 am as I write this) and see my wife.

The assassins are back.

Blizzard's betas are usually extremely polished, and if you played in the recent Overwatch beta you know what I mean.

I'm writing this column purely from a Warrior standpoint, and purely as someone who has tanked on a Warrior and Death Knight.

A couple of weeks ago, we asked how closely all of you follow betas -- in short, whether or not you liked hearing about beta news.

Every now and then, we receive feedback suggesting we provide too much alpha/beta coverage and not enough coverage of the live game.

Hello Queuers!

It’s been a while. Do you remember me? My name is Adam, and I’m a writer here. I’ve been a writer here for a long time, over eight years infact. But for the past year I’ve been behind the scenes a lot, once in a while popping out from my business and coding hole to write a post. A rare thing, but it does happen!

That said, I’m doing a few Queues. It feels good… it’s like wearing an old shirt. So comfortable and warm. Let’s begin!

The Overwatch beta received an update earlier today addressing a number of bugs and balance issues.

The Overwatch closed beta went down for a long winter nap starting on December 10, but it's coming back soon.

While on stage at the Legion preview panel, Ion Hazzikostas let drop that the Legion beta will be released in the "weeks" after BlizzCon.
