Apparently Blizzard isn't wasting any time with the release of its first audio drama.

Blizzard has tons of printed lore and animated shorts, but today they've released their very first audio drama.

We knew Gul'dan was evil -- he was responsible for the Shadow Council, the first Horde, the original invasion of Azeroth, and the corruption of the Orcs.

As I write this it’s been well above freezing for days, and nearly all the snow has melted. I’m not fooled — it’s winter in Canada, it’s going to come roaring back and dump frozen water all over us, that’s what it does. But it’s still bizarre to be in shirtsleeves weather in January. (Yes, slightly above freezing is shirtsleeves weather in Alberta.)

Here’s the Queue. Let’s talk about Blizzard games. There may be spoilers for Legion in this one. If there are, I’ll make sure to mention them in the question/answer part so you can skip them.

Gul'dan has a long and storied history in World of Warcraft -- after all, his betrayal of Ner'zhul and subsequent takeover of the original Horde is what brought the Orcs to Azeroth in the first place.

The World of Warcraft: Legion expansion will center around the demons pouring out of the Tomb of Sargeras in The Broken Isles.

Some lore is simply too dangerous for mortals to know.

The fallen Titan unleashed the Burning Legion and sent them across infinity, devouring worlds like cosmic locusts, rendering them lifeless. A nearly unstoppable army of demons under his banner finds worlds and unmakes them, and so far only one planet has held out against the onslaught of Sargeras and his Burning Legion. But who is Sargeras? What motivates this being? What drives him to seek the unmaking of the entire universe?

One of the things I've loved this expansion is playing a draenei in it. Getting to see what Draenor looked like before the orcs committed genocide on the draenei has been awesome, and the draenei story in Shadowmoon Valley and Talador (including Auchindoun) was one of my favorite parts of any expansion. In fact, some of my disappointment with the game's max level content has been a lack of continuation of that very story. We got to see Yrel become an Exarch, and that I was happy about, but aside from that I've really felt like we've missed out. I wanted a raid where I helped the Sha'tar retake Shattrath, for example. I wanted to get to see what's going on up at Farahlon. I'm hopeful we'll still get to see this stuff, because for me all the quality story beats in Warlords of Draenor have been the draenei

We've seen that in many ways this Draenor seems to mirror the one we know today as Outland, which suggests that The Burning Legion is coming... but probably not in the way we expect.
