War Of The Ancients

Know Your Lore: The future belongs to Azshara Right about now, we can be forgiven for focusing on the Burning Legion and the threat they pose to Azeroth and the universe. Even if Sargeras was defeated utterly, the vast army of demons at his disposal will likely remain a threat.

Know Your Lore: Gift of the Naaru The concept of destiny is a powerful thing in World of Warcraft. It’s a big, weighty word — one that has written the fates of both heroes and villains in lore.

Argus has its own lore museum to preserve its pre-Legion culture In patch 7.3, you’ll encounter the Krokul, the eredar who refused to join Sargeras on Argus. The invasion of the Army of the Light liberated some of the Krokul slaves, and they have been hiding from the Legion in Krokuun — where we arrive when we first land in Argus.

Know Your Lore: The Old Gods and the Sundering The Pantheon made the only decision they could rightfully make when they chose to imprison the Old Gods. The death of Y’shaarj proved that trying to remove the others would only further endanger and possibly kill Azeroth’s world-soul — and that was the last thing the Titans wanted.

When people usually talk about the War of the Ancients, it’s to discuss the upheaval in Night Elf society.

Know Your Lore: Druid Artifact lore in Legion Druid lore already has its own unique extended history, and Druid Artifact lore only expands on it. Of all the classes available in World of Warcraft, Druids by far have the largest section of dedicated lore.

Know Your Lore: Maiev Shadowsong The huntress is nothing without the hunt. And Maiev Shadowsong may not have started out as the huntress we know today, but she wholeheartedly embodies the spirit of vengeance itself — and when she at last exacts that vengeance upon one quarry, you can be certain she will find another.

Know Your Lore: Illidan Stormrage Illidan Stormrage is one of the most well-known figures in Warcraft lore, although the majority of his story took place long before World of Warcraft — he was first featured back in Warcraft 3. However, his origins go all the way back to the beginning of Azeroth’s tumultuous history over ten thousand years ago, during...
