Sure, Demon Hunter Sombra is the first BlizzCon Virtual Ticket reward — but we just want to know if it’s a Diablo 4 hint

Overwatch’s notorious hacker has a brand new Diablo-themed skin, and you can use it right now if you purchase a BlizzCon Virtual Ticket. The legendary Demon Hunter skin outfits Sombra with a leather hood, a one-handed crossbow, and some glowing eyes. It looks like it was pulled straight from Diablo — or, you know, the final point of the Blizzard World map. It’s not just looks though!

Sombra has a new voice line for her EMP ultimate ability. Rather than her usual line, Demon Hunter Sombra yells, “La obscuridad te espera!” That roughly translates to “The darkness awaits you!” Sombra also will occasionally say “Hail!” when using the hello voice line.

To get the skin, you have to purchase the BlizzCon Virtual Ticket for $49.99 on the Blizzcon website. It’s a steep — noticeably increased — price if you only want it, but it will also unlock a variety of unannounced stuff for other Blizzard games, get you $10 off the Blizzcon Goodie Bag, and, of course, will let you watch the live streams from BlizzCon on November 2 and November 3. If you buy the ticket now, you can watch everything from last year’s event as well.

As for that other, unannounced stuff I mentioned? The official blog post mentions that the in-game rewards for Overwatch, StarCraft 2, and StarCraft: Remastered will be available separately in 2019. So, if you can wait for the Sombra skin, you’ll be able to get it later in some way.

Most importantly — and what has the Blizzard fanbase buzzing the most — is the fact that the skin is based on Diablo. Is this near-confirmation that there’s going to be a big announcement for that series at BlizzCon? We’ve already speculated a bunch on what that new game could be, but this seems like one of the biggest wink-wink, nudge-nudge clues we’ve had yet.

What extras do you want to see from other games like World of Warcraft and Heroes of the Storm, and will you be picking up the Sombra skin? And how upset will you be if this isn’t some sort of Diablo-announcement tie-in?
