What is your dream feature for WoW?

World of Warcraft is an old game, but every once in a while it brings something new that shakes things up — and players often talk about the features that the game lacks but they’d love to see implemented in it. It may seem like the WoW team is unlikely to reinvent the wheel, but big features like cross-realm zones and cross-faction grouping seemed almost unthinkable before they actually happened.

Chief among features that players want to see is, without a doubt, player housing. A lot has been discussed about this over the years, and I firmly believe that we will see this feature released one day. However, it’s natural that since expectations for it are so high, the developers will take the utmost care to ensure that it’s a robust feature that actually pleases the playerbase — and not something like Garrisons (which sounded much cooler on paper than what they ended up being, in my opinion).

Faction-related changes also get talked about from time to time. Some players want to see a third faction implemented, comprised of races that share the ideals of neither the Alliance nor the Horde. Others want to be able to take on a deserter questline, abandoning their old faction, and either going independent or actually becoming a Tauren who joins the Alliance or a Dwarf who joins the Horde.

No more race/class restrictions is another feature that many players dream about. Things like Blood Elf Druids, Draenei Warlocks, or Forsaken Paladins get talked about constantly, and I’m positive that a lot of people are counting the days until they can finally roll a character of their dream combo — especially considering that those restrictions have been getting laxer recently.

Speaking of things getting laxer, we all know that transmog is the true endgame — and many players dream of fewer restrictions in that system. Some would like to be able to collect transmog regardless of what the character they’re currently playing can equip — those appearances are account-wide, after all. Others would love to see restrictions going away for transmog entirely — if they want to dress their Mage in full plate, that’s not too different from using a toy to look like a silly Hozen while raiding. There could also be improvements to the transmog systems we already have: Often mentioned are armor dyes, and the ability to see your character’s hair under their headpieces.

Finally, lots of players have dreamed about seeing the damage done to the old world by the Cataclysm finally be undone. They come up with ways that the game could restore the zones in Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, updating them to the current days, and leaving them pristine in the end.

What about you? What is your dream feature for WoW, whether it seems feasible enough that it could actually be implemented one day, or it’s completely unlikely to happen?
