What is your favorite winter in-game ho-ho-holiday?

Hark how the bells deck the halls for (supposedly) the best time of the year. The music is on the radio, and the lines are at the malls — the winter holiday season has kicked off. Us delightful gamer introverts are fairly skilled at dodging the parts of the holidays we don’t enjoy, but what about the parts we do like? Namely — in-game holiday events!

It feels like there is an utter deluge this year. In the Blizzard portfolio, we have the following starting in the next week alone:

• Diablo 4’s Midwinter Blight starts December 12, ends January 2.
• Diablo 2 Resurrected’s 22 Nights of Terror starts December 13, ends January 4.
• World of Warcraft’s Winter Veil starts December 16, ends January 2.
• Overwatch 2’s Winter Wonderland starts December 19, ends January 8.

This list doesn’t even account for potential events. Things like holiday-themed Tavern Brawls in Hearthstone or January’s Darkening of Tristram in Diablo 3 are not currently announced, and therefore not set in stone.

Truthfully, Diablo gamers may have it the hardest. Midwinter Blight is falling during the truly enjoyable Season of Blood, running parallel to the newly released Abattoir of Zir. D2R’s 22 Nights involves “daily demonic trickery,” where a new gameplay modifier is released every 24 hours. Both sound like a ton of fun and are available for both PC and console gamers alike!

Never fear, devoted fans of WoW, Winter Veil has potential new loot in the worlds. Additionally, the last Amirdrassil raid finder wing opens on December 12. The game is not lacking for content.

OW2’s Winter Wonderland falls neatly into the title’s 8th season. There will be all-new holiday skins for players, with the chance to earn a free Legendary skin: Formalwear for Cassidy or Baptiste, or Illari’s Winter Jammies. And don’t forget, the Wonderland will bring back delightful event modes like Mei’s Snowball Offensive.

Really, it seems almost impossible to knock out all four in full. You’re going to have to narrow down to your favorite. I’m personally most likely to tackle the demonic hordes of Sanctuary, but perhaps you’re really excited to possibly earn a new Pepe toy or OW2’s Yeti Hunt sounds like an absolute blast.
