I am extremely grumpy today, mostly because I’ve come down with my third communicable illness since the start of the year. I got all my seasonal shots and take vitamins and exercise and eat right, but that won’t stop germs, I guess.

Microsoft has shown us once again that the true Survival Game at the heart of corporate culture is literal as it lays off 1,900 people, employed mostly in their newly acquired Activision-Blizzard division, and in so doing also gave the axe to their Untitled Survival Game.

Sometimes, you’ll take the motivation to do stuff from any corner, no matter how silly it may seem otherwise. Sometimes the motivation comes from little treats, like “if you finish this, you can go to the cafe for an almond croissant.” And sometimes, the motivation is there because you’re going to post something on Instagram, so it may as well look cute.
