The Queue: This is fine.
Hi there, welcome to the BlizzCon hype train. I would be your conductor, but I’m afraid I need to go drive to an abandoned parking lot and let loose a long scream for about 20 minutes, then drive back to my house, breathless, and try to pretend to be a functional adult before going trick or treating all night in the rain.
I’m not sure who decided to schedule BlizzCon for the day after Halloween this year, but they are not my favorite person right now.
The Queue: I’m not stressed, you’re stressed
If you’ve never had a small kid you may not know the incredible breadth of activities that goes on during Halloween. We’ve gone to the pumpkin patch, we had events with candy in the trunk of our car, we had to bake some gross-looking food for Girl Scouts, and this weekend we’re going to the train museum’s Halloween event, because why not!
The good thing is, most of this was planned in advance, so we have all our ducks in a row. Yes, being able to plan things in advance and get organized really helps things move more smoothly when everything else is chaos. Things like schedules are nice to have, for instance. Yep, scheduling things is good. Always useful to have a schedule.
Let me just reschedule all the BlizzCon planning meetings we missed over the past 2 weeks now that the schedule is finally out and let’s get to Queuein’.
The Queue: Would you look at the time.
Every week, I come into the Queue with high hopes, intending to make a really great pun or have some kind of special insight. And then, after I read the comments, one of you inevitably mentions that we’re getting closer and closer to BlizzCon. This week was no different, and now I need to write this Queue while I write more things in my day planner and lie on the floor.
Two weeks.
Here, enjoy this Queue while I go scream into a dress like Amy Adams.
Overwatch arrives on the Nintendo Switch… today!
The Queue: Did something happen yesterday?
There I was, minding my own business in the mid-afternoon. Suddenly, it was hours later. I couldn’t remember anything that happened in between, but my fingers ached and my head was swimming. Ordinarily I would try to make sense of it, but since it was a big announcement day I just popped a couple ibuprofen and kept on typing.
This is The Queue, and most of the Qs that need As today are unsurprisingly about patch 8.3. We have all the info you need so far about patch 8.3, but sometimes there are even more questions to answer!
Overwatch: The Official Cookbook is packed with tasty recipes (and tastier lore tidbits) from around the world
The Queue: Culinary Disaster Edition
The Overwatch Official Cookbook came out today! I got my grubby hands on a copy, and so tomorrow night over on the Blizzard Watch Twitch channel we’re doing our first cooking stream. It’s packed with tiny lore tidbits, ranging from small details to bigger confirmations. It confirms in print that Jack Morrison had an ex-boyfriend, for instance — they weren’t just “gal pals.” We knew that via context clues, but it wasn’t explicitly stated beyond a head writer’s Twitter account. It also adds in a few small details of the universe that seem pretty irrelevant but are still fun and add some flavor to the universe — Torbjorn’s wife makes a killer apple pie, and is also a chemical engineer. Wait, that makes her a strong contender for Hero 32! I’m going to have to rethink this…
Now I need to clean my kitchen, so while I avoid doing that here’s a Queue.
The Queue: Merry Patchmas!
I hope you have a great Patchmas! I have my auction house mods ready to list all kinds of herbs, and I’m super excited for my worgen’s new face. I will say that I’m a little sad, because I felt like the “first day with all these teeth” smile really suited the personality of my pet-taming Druid. After all, that was literally the story we played through in Gilneas. But it’s been a bit. She’s probably used to them now.
Let’s get to Queuin’!
