If you're the gamer in your friend group or family, you often get asked about the various games you play, be they video games, tabletop RPGs, board games -- I have lost track of the amount of times I've been asked to explain Catan to people -- and you're put in the position of serving as a sort of unofficial ambassador for the hobbies you participate in and enjoy.

Sometimes it's as simple as hey, you get to raise dinosaurs.

I can't say I come back to World of Warcraft, because you can't come back when you never leave — but I do find myself returning to Diablo on the regular, having in the past week played both Diablo 2: Resurrected and Diablo 3.

Diablo 3 Season 24 ended on December 5, to make way for the upcoming Season 25, the Lords of Hell Season.

If you're familiar with Rifts in Diablo 3, you'll be right at home in the Challenge Rifts and Elder Rifts in Diablo Immortal.

It's the 25th Anniversary of Diablo, and it's also Diablo 3 Season 25, and as part of that celebration Blizzard is giving us a Season themed around the big bads of the franchise, the Lords of Hell themselves.

There are a lot of RPG's and action RPG's out there, and yet, the Diablo franchise has managed to exist for over 20 years now, and the relatively simple formula for the series has not just survived, it's thrived, to the point where it's even seen a phalanx of imitators and spiritual successors like the Torchlight games, the Path of Exile series, Grim Dawn, Wolcen, Darksiders Genesis, Warhammer Chaosbane, and a whole lot more.

Seasoned Diablo 2 players know this already, but those who started with Diablo 3 may be in for a rude awakening in Diablo 2 Resurrected, because you cannot freely respec your skills and abilities.

Diablo 3 Season 24 started on July 23, and Season 24 ends on December 5.

If your first Diablo game was Diablo 3 -- and considering that Diablo 2 originally came out in 2000, that's entirely possible -- you may have felt somewhat confused when you first logged into Diablo 2: Resurrected.
