The Dragonflight pre-patch launches tomorrow (at least for some regions), and with it comes yet another overhaul to WoW's talent system.

There's been a lot of consternation in the World of Warcraft community that the arrival of patch 10.0 and the end of season 4 would result in the inability to obtain Shadowlands' version of the final raid's Ahead of the Curve mount: the Carcinized Zerethsteed.

World of Warcraft has a sort of punctuated equilibrium when it comes to content releases -- sometimes more punctuated than equilibrium, if you ask me.

There's no burying the lede here: the World of Warcraft Twitter account announced that faction no longer impacts mob tagging in Dragonflight.

It's not a secret that I felt pretty disconnected from my main in Battle for Azeroth and Shadowlands. Playing a Night Elf felt pretty crummy, at least to me, with the whole storyline hinging around the deaths of thousands of my character's people — including all the vendors and innkeepers and auctioneers and bankers and other NPCs I saw on a fairly frequent basis.

With the Dragonflight pre-patch launching on October 25, you may be wondering what will happening to your carefully collected gear, particularly the tier set bonuses and Shadowlands Legendaries that are currently providing a lot of your power.

The WoW Classic team announced that players of Season of Mastery characters now have the choice to transfer to Wrath Classic or Classic Era servers -- because Season of Mastery servers are going to be closed, and the characters remaining there straight up deleted, at a later date yet to be announced.

The World of Warcraft team announced yesterday that the pre-expansion activities for Dragonflight will be broken up into two patches: one arriving next week that’ll bring new talent trees and HUD changes, and one arriving with new activities the week of November 15 -- less than two weeks before the release of the expansion.

The announcement of the forthcoming end of Shadowlands Season 4 made us pretty confident that the Dragonflight pre-patch (aka patch 10.0) would arrive simultaneously on October 25, and today official word was published confirming its arrival next week with the weekly reset.

Dragonflight launches on November 28 and with it brand new zones to explore and mounts to collect. Shadowlands isn't over yet, though, and while we wait to go over to the Dragon Isles many players are looking to finish up collecting the mounts from the expansion (or taking advantage of the lull to revisit old expansions for mounts).
