Breakfast Topic: Are you running heroic dungeons in WoW?
Sure, the challenge of heroics can be fun — and challenge modes, in particular, are a great way to push your abilities. But running heroic dungeons for gear? It's very hard to recommend.
Breakfast Topic: What tunes do you want to hear?
I have to admit, one of the first things I did when logging in for patch 6.1 was work on putting my very own B.O.O.M.
Breakfast Topic: Did you take a selfie?
I, unfortunately, have not taken a selfie.
Breakfast Topic: The trouble with addons
I don't typically run with an elaborate addon configuration in World of Warcraft, and patch day is most of the reason why. It's not that I object to addons in any way, but I find it a nuisance to keep them up to date and working — especially when patch day rolls around. After all, the default UI is good enough... isn't it?
Breakfast Topic: What will you do first in patch 6.1?
Patch 6.1 is hitting the US realms today! I’m used to major patches having a catchy subtitle (e.g. Patch 5.1: Landfall), but patch 6.1 has no such theme attached to it. This is strictly a features patch.
Breakfast Topic: What’s your favorite garrison building?
In the grand scheme of things, I hadn't really given a lot of thought to garrison planning -- I knew I wanted both a jewelcrafting and engineering building for my professions, I wanted an inn because it looked cool (and the quests sounded like fun), but beyond that, it was up in the air. The last building I ever thought I'd find myself inadvertently falling in love with, however, was the Salvage Yard.
Breakfast Topic: What do you wish you’d known when you started?
We were all newbies in our respective favorite games — and depending on the game, that could have been a very long time ago. But looking back on your newbiedom, you probably stumbled a bit (or, in my case, more than a bit) along the way before you figured out just what you were doing.
Breakfast Topic: The race for firsts
Method's world first kill of mythic Blackhand yesterday has us thinking about the constant race in games to be "first" — and whether it still matters to the average player.
Breakfast Topic: Your first character
Blizzard games have been in circulation for a long time, and that can mean it's been while between the time you created your first character and today. Over the years, games change, with classes and balance being endlessly tweaked, and what you once played may not seem like fun in its new incarnation.
Breakfast Topic: Your daily WoW routine
Despite the lack of daily quests in Warlords of Draenor — at least compared to the daily quest madness that was Mists of Pandaria — in Warlords, I feel like a creature of habit more than ever.
