World of Warcraft and minigame micromanagement
I'm on record, when we saw the introduction of pet battles, as saying 'Well, this isn't content I care about, but it's good for people who like it' because pet battles are utterly optional. The various rewards you get for pet battles only affect the pet battle minigame itself - stones and other rewards that affect the pets and how they level. There's never a reason to play pet battles if you don't enjoy the gameplay - you're never forced to do it, nor do you even feel forced to. I can say this having utterly ignored pet battles since their introduction.

Do you have any monuments in your garrison? If so, which one?
Plaguebearer: Killing Machine, you’re killing me
Depending on how closely you’ve been following coverage of the patch 6.2 PTR, it may come as a surprise that my column today doesn’t focus on Death Knight changes, tier sets, and other goodies such as trinkets and legendary rings. The Warrior’s Charge: Patch 6.2, Arms and too much nothing
Now, this is still fairly early in the patch cycle, so it's hard to make assumptions based on these notes. Big changes could pop up at any time. But as things stand right now, apparently Blizzard thinks warriors are pretty well off going into patch 6.2. And the thing is, I'd probably have to agree with them. Warriors work, for the most part.
Lightsworn: The happy viability of level 100 Protection Paladin talents
Protection is snugly situated in an excellent place -- a Goldilocks zone where our DPS is decent, our survivability is great, and there’s nothing terribly wrong or ridiculously excellent going on with our specialization. How did we happen to find ourselves in such a happy state?
Mythic dungeons and alternative progression
One of the most interesting tidbits of the Patch 6.2 PTR notes was the one about Mythic dungeons. To replicate what it said, "Draenor Dungeons now have a new difficulty level designed to challenge even the most hardened adventurers with a befitting increase in reward. Mythic difficulty is geared towards players that enjoy tackling difficult content in smaller groups and is designed to provide an alternate progression path."
Patch 6.2: Night Elf and Human model updates
Reddit poster Exil_ noted an unnannounced patch 6.2 change yesterday -- it appears that the female Human model has been updated. A quick look on the PTR reveals that female Human models have been retouched, and some of the textures for female Night Elves were also adjusted.
What you need to know about patches, datamining, and the PTR
If you haven't been an active WoW player during a patch cycle in the past, you might be a little lost at all the buzz around the recent release of patch 6.2 on the game's public test realms. We'll walk you through what you need to know.
BlizzCrafts: Nail art is Blizzard fandom on a small scale
Some artists paint on canvas and others on computer, but for some, small scale art that can be painted on a single fingernail is the perfect outlet for expression.
