I don't feel like I need to convince you to buy the D&D's Explorer's Guide to Wildemount -- if you're playing D&D, then you probably already know about Critical Role and Matt Mercer's campaign setting for that long-running, streamed D&D series.

This weekend we played D&D, and things got kind of crazy.

Most people are familiar with the general idea of the badges you earn in Girl Scouts -- learn about a topic, tick a couple boxes worth of requirements, and you've got yourself a cute triangular patch to iron onto your vest or sash.

If you've been a reader here for a while, you may remember my post about Odyssey of the Dragonlords, a really very good setting by two ex-Bioware developers with convincing track records.

This is another of those topics which applies to most, if not all, tabletop RPGs to some extent, but it's worth discussing in terms of Dungeons and Dragons just because more people play that game.

One of the fun things about Dungeons and Dragons is looking at all the cool options that you'll probably never actually get to play, because there's just not enough time to play sixteen D&D games in a week.

Somebody having to step away from a recurring session of Dungeons and Dragons is something every party will have to contend with eventually.
