The Queue: I never could get the hang of Thursdays

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!

Hooray, the S.E.L.F.I.E. camera has been fixed! This means I can spend the next leg of my Nightborne’s journey curating a visual diary along with, you know, doing quests. Not everyone is happy about my decision. Luckily the satyr pictured above has been restrained, and he can’t glare me to death, although he’s certainly giving it his best shot.

But let’s take a break from this breathtaking image and answer your questions, shall we?

The Queue: I don’t have to follow your rules

Yeah! I’ll do what I want! Even if that means wearing this ridiculous thing on my head, which is completely undignified. I am a Sin’dorei and what is this thing on my head and how do I get it out of my hair.

Okay. Maybe I will follow your rules if they don’t involve things clawing at my scalp. I’ll think about it, anyway.

So, hey, it’s Wednesday! Let’s do the Queue.

The Queue: Mondays are fun days

In other life I work in publishing and tech, and Mondays always seem to be a day full of 9am emails and 10am meetings. Can we get a support group going in The Queue today for those of us that have to deal with such Monday things?

I’m honestly surprised there isn’t some virtual therapy or website to commiserate about the horrors that are Monday mornings.

The Queue: Desideratum

It’s not a secret that I was both very happy with and very disappointed with Warlords of Draenor. I felt, and I still feel, that the 90 to 100 game was nearly perfect — the premise was executed well, it was easy to follow considering it was an alternate timeline we were visiting, the voice acting was superb. The cracks only started to show once I hit level 100 and it felt like there wasn’t anything else to do once I got there. We never got to see the zone I was the most excited about, for example. Farahlon never made it to the live game, and we never even tried to explore the southern continent on the original Draenor maps Blizzard produced for Warlords.

Time has, to a degree, vindicated Warlords — without it, we wouldn’t have had Legion, and this has been exactly what we needed from an expansion. I’m a bit leery that Battle for Azeroth has some huge shoes to fill in that regard. But as of right now, I’m sitting here remembering Warlords of Draenor and how that expansive, broad, astonishing world ended up not quite measuring up. Maybe it couldn’t. Maybe my expectations were too high.

Let’s talk about stuff.

The Queue: Distant relations

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!

I think all the adventurers running through Pandaria a couple of expansions addled Lorewalker Cho’s head a little bit. I’m not sure what those shadowy figures are, but they’re definitely not the ancestors of my Nightborne. But then I suppose we’re in kind of a weird time loop anyway. Maybe it’s best just to humor him, right?

Let’s answer your questions, before Cho decides to start asking too many of his own.

The Queue: Existence ought to be weird

Can I get personal for a minute?

One of the downsides since launching Blizzard Watch is that I have less time to write and interact with the community (beside Twitter)… no time for podcasts, lots of other posts, etc… And that means I don’t get to (friendly) argue with Matt Rossi anymore. And because of that I spent a couple hours this morning writing a reply to a question that wasn’t really asked …  just for Matt.

Let us Queue.
