It's rare that I spend a lot of gold on anything, these days -- but that's par for the course at the end of an expansion.

There wasn't much in the way of news today, but there is a lot going on in our favorite games this weekend (by which I mean Warcraft, obviously).

The lore of the Diablo franchise has gotten deeper and more involved with every new game, expanding from the small town of Tristram and the catacombs beneath the cathedral there to a globe-spanning adventure that led to Hell itself and finally in Diablo 3 we went to the Heavens and Pandemonium in turn. We've seen nightmarish monsters, Baal's army overwhelm the Barbarians and the destruction of the Worldstone, the siege of the Crystal Arch and the Nephalem stand triumphant against a former Archangel with the power of all seven Evils in its grasp.

I went back to do the Dominance Offensive quest chain on an Allied Race alt and man, I still wonder what Thrall was thinking when he put this guy in charge. I mean…people skills should probably be part of the job description, you know?

At first glance, the removal of PVP servers might seem like Blizzard wants to reduce the role of PVP in World of Warcraft, but after getting a chance to play with War Mode I think the opposite is true.

Now that Legion is basically in the can, it's time we can sit back and look over the past couple of years and think about what we liked best about it.

It's been a while since I've raided Ahn'Qiraj (or done the opening event), so I can look back at it (and its dumb achievements) with nostalgia.

When an expansion rolls toward its end like Legion is now, people tend to meet their goals and then unsubscribe until the next expansion, which won't roll around until August 14 when Battle for Azeroth hits virtual shelves.

I didn’t realize the Warlords garrison perpetually updated with Battle Pets after the expansion was over, so imagine my surprise to find Khadgar’s disembodied head and Uuna just strolling along without a care in the world. Or, well, floating along in Khadgar’s case. Either way, Dadghar and the Dead Girl sounds like an amazing title for a Saturday morning cartoon. Uuna gets into mischief, Khadgar tries to keep her out of it, but he has no corporeal body. Hijinks ensue.
