Character Customization

The home haircut has become something of a badge of honor in the current environment.

It's no secret that World of Warcraft is getting a whole host of updates to character customization options in Shadowlands -- the biggest graphical update for characters since we received race updates in Warlords of Draenor.

New Blood Elf customization options have made it into the Shadowlands alpha!

This week, we found out that Void and Blood Elves were getting a series of customization options that would include skin tones and glowing blue eyes that would allow either to look like a Warcraft II-era High Elf.

You want more character customization?

Look, I love the lore of World of Warcraft as much as any living human being.

One of the most surprising announcements for Shadowlands and World of Warcraft in general was that WoW is going to see added customization options.

If you play a Death Knight,  a Blood Elf or a Night Elf in World of Warcraft (and seemingly not a Void Elf or a Nightborne) then you're going to notice a few changes in patch 8.3, specifically to your eyes.  As part of the incoming Shadowlands changes that will be made to character customization options for all characters, Blizzard is going to test out some changes to the way that certain eyes glow, and the certain ones in question appear to be DKs, Blood and Night Elves.

At BlizzCon 2019 we got the show-stopping announcement we've been waiting for: World of Warcraft's eighth expansion will be Shadowlands.

BlizzCon had a lot of great surprises, but my favorite announcement wasn't a game, or a feature, or even a release date.
