Diablo 2 Resurrected

We know that people who pre-order Diablo 2: Resurrected will get early access to the open beta for the game.

There's a lot of excitement for the forthcoming Diablo 2: Resurrected, a complete remaster of the classic game for PCs and consoles by Vicarious Visions.

Diablo 3's Season 24, called the Ethereal Memories season, will start on July 23 at 5PM (PDT/CEST/KST) and that's pretty great, but if you're a Season player, you're probably here wanting to know what those shiny Season rewards are.

What's old is new again as more and more game studios dive into their past catalogs for their next big hits.

We're finally officially getting Diablo 2: Resurrected!

Diablo 3 is one of the best games ever made.

If you were born after 2000, first off, congratulations on making me feel like a shriveled animated corpse driven from its tomb, but also, congratulations on being younger than Diablo 2. The premier game in ARPGs was released in 2000, and we've seen a whole Diablo game released since then, 2012's Diablo 3.

I have argued exactly the opposite of this on several occasions, and I might do so again, but sitting here at 5 am the day after I got my eye injections I find myself thinking that the new Chronoboon Displacer -- while it is something that never existed in vanilla WoW -- is a good sign for the future of WoW Classic.

After spending several hours playing Diablo 2: Resurrected on a Barbarian and an Amazon, I can report that my first impression of the game is that it is indeed Diablo 2, just prettier.

Let's compare the not yet released Diablo 2: Resurrected with last year's Warcraft 3 Reforged -- why is the latter game seen as less than a successful remaster while the former has everyone abuzz with excitement?
