This is not the setup for a joke: Hearthstone Battlegrounds is getting some updates, with two new heroes and a new minion.

There's never been a better time to get started with Hearthstone than the present moment, thanks to the enormous reset the game has just received.

Two new heroes have joined the Hearthstone Battlegrounds roster!

You've read that right: spells are coming to Hearthstone Battlegrounds — though it's what the official Hearthstone Twitter account calls a "limited-time mechanic." Starting tomorrow, your Battlegrounds games are about to become a little spicier, as every four turns, you'll be able to Discover a Battleground-specific spell, called "prizes." So you can pick a spell on turn 4, another on turn 8, one more on turn 12, and a final one on turn 16 (if the game is still going by then, of course).

The Battlegrounds mode for Hearthstone is no longer super unbalanced!

If you've been following Hearthstone for the past year or so -- more specifically, since November 5, 2019, when the Battlegrounds mode was introduced -- you've probably noticed the steady decline in popularity of its once prominent Arena mode.
