Leveling

Lately I've kind of gone alt crazy in World of Warcraft.

I think around the time my second new character hit 120 was when I started to realize how much I hate having to grind up Azerite for my Heart of Azeroth.

One of the choices you're going to have leveling through World of Warcraft's next expansion, Shadowlands, is deciding which of the game's expansions to go 10 to 50 in.

With the big leveling changes coming in WoW Shadowlands, we're all wondering just how long it will take us to reach max level on our mains and on our alts.

To my mind, there are two separate paths to discuss when talking about the Winds of Wisdom buff that's currently active in World of Warcraft -- there's using it on that 110 or above alt to get them to 120, and there's using it on a fresh or significantly under the level cap character, potentially even a first character if you're just starting World of Warcraft now.

At BlizzCon 2019, Blizzard announced that a brand new approach to leveling was coming in Shadowlands. Instead of leveling — and outleveling — our way through a sliver of every expansion's story, we would level through a single expansion for a more coherent experience.

First up, I've always been of the opinion that the Legacy loot system for older raids is too restrictive.

I mean, for me, the XP boost in World of Warcraft Blizzard introduced last week is terrifying because it suddenly opens up a ton of options.

This is one I think about from time to time.

Shadowlands means a different way to level, with players able to choose an expansion or the Azeroth we've had since Cataclysm and leveling in it and it alone.
