Seasonal Play

Diablo 3 introduced Themed Seasons with its Season 14.

If you're in the thick of Diablo 3's Season 18, you may be wondering: when am I going to have to get serious about wrapping up my Seasonal Journey?

With BlizzCon two weeks away, we're in the position of wondering what will happen when it has come and gone, and one of the games I most wonder about is Diablo 3.

We're heading into the PTR for Diablo 3 Season 19, and that has me thinking about how Seasons have worked out for the game.

After Season 16's Season of Grandeur buff and Season 17's Season of Nightmares , I think it's fair to say that Blizzard has hit on an interesting formula for future Seasonal play in Diablo 3.  While some players have complained about Season 17's Legacy of Nightmare bonus being a bit hard to make work -- at least until you have enough Ancient Legendary pieces, anyway -- there's no denying that there's a certain amount of fun to be had in the concept of a special power that the Season bestows on all Seasonal characters.

I personally love when Diablo 3 does a new Season -- it gives me an excuse to create a new alt and/or rebirth one of my current Barbarians.

Diablo 3 has been experimenting with themed Seasons for the Seasonal play for a couple months now, starting last Season with the Season of Greed.

Season 13 of Diablo 3 seasonal play is coming to an end on June 3 with season 14 arriving nearly two weeks later on June 13.

Season 10 of Diablo 3 will be coming to a close June 23, followed by an unusual delay before season 11.
