Wow Flying

When Cataclysm Classic launches on May 20, players will be immediately available to fly (almost) anywhere in World of Warcraft Classic, which is bit differently than how flying worked in Burning Crusade Classic and Wrath of the Lich King Classic. Instead of being locked behind max level and an ungodly currency sink, most WoW Classic players can easily access the flying trainer to help them traverse through a different Azeroth.

When it launches, WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria will be a self-contained leveling experience through the wilds of Pandaria — but that means it will restrict your access to traditional trainers and training locations.

After years of riding the game's flight paths on majestic Gryphons and lithe Windriders, players would take the reins themselves in Burning Crusade.

In patch 9.1, we'll finally be able take to the skies on flying mounts in the four original Shadowlands zones: Bastion, Maldraxxus, Ardenweald, and Revendreth.

One of the biggest questions that arose when Blizzard announced the leveling squish in Shadowlands was "How is flying going to work?" And now that the Shadowlands alpha is out, we finally have an answer.

Some of you have probably guessed the image above is Stratholme.

In patch 8.2, we'll finally be able to fly — and that includes the new zones we'll be going to.

Tom Chilton answered a question about how we're going to get flying in Legion.

Okay. I've been mulling this one over since Ion Hazzikostas' interview this week. And it's not going to make me a lot of friends, I expect. So best to just rip the band-aid off and go for it.
