The Queue: Nine Point TwoTwoTwosday

Sometimes you can only read a word so many times before it just looks like nonsense. The word “two” meets that bar almost immediately, making everything so much more unhinged today.

This is The Queue, where you ask us questions and we supply the answers.

The Queue: Friday Abides

There was a queue question earlier this week about wanting to escape from it all, and to be honest, the moments I most feel like doing so is when something momentous is about to happen, like Horizon: Forbidden West, Shadowlands patch 9.2, and a switch version of Never Alone are all coming out within a week, or when a Tauren Shaman is inexplicably in Dun Morogh and attacks you for your gloves because his hands are super cold.

But I’ll resist the urge to patrol outside Ironforge with my best buddy and instead answer your queue questions!

The Queue: Forbidden Hwest Edition

Hello and happy Thursday, February 17! I once had a college professor who would put an “h” sound in front of “wh” words (so, hwheat). I didn’t find it annoying or anything, but now any time I decided to put an h sound in front of a w, I think of that professor and that class (it was an Anthropology/Archaeology course about early civilizations, for the curious).

Anyhow, it’s an exciting Thursday so we’re diving right in!

The Queue: Waiting for Download

It is apparently the season of enormous patches that take a year to download and install. The giant Cyberpunk 2077 patch just dropped, as did a surprise Baldur’s Gate 3 patch that finally lets us play Barbarians. They are 50 and 90 gigs, respectively. I had to delete several video games I’m not currently playing just to make room for them. So yeah, that’s pretty much what I did last night. What are you all up to?

The Queue: We just had to live on a pumpkin farm…

Sure moving the whole Queue to a pumpkin farm for retirement seems like a good idea to start. There’s plenty of nice open skies, fresh air, and all the pumpkin-based food you can eat. I know that I could probably live off of pumpkin beer and pumpkin pie for the rest of my life.

But to quote the great scientist Dr. Ian Malcom “Oh, yeah. Oooh, ahhh, that’s how it always starts. Then later there’s running and screaming.”

While I look for a place to hide from the legion of pumpkin monsters hungry for the blood of the one who slaughtered their family, it’s time for — The Queue.

The Queue: What a slow week

I’m not sure what it is about this week, but pretty much every day has felt like it should already be Thursday, and now that Thursday’s here, I’m beyond ready for it to just be Fri-day night. Maybe it’s because I’m excited for the weekend, maybe it’s because my PTO starts in 8 days. Regardless, this week has felt slow.

But who cares about speed when you have a Queue?!
