The Queue
The Queue: Another day of existing
Another day come, another day gone. That’s how days work, I think.
So let’s Queue.
The Queue: I’m not tired, you’re tired.
What? No, it’s fine, I just need to get some coffee and we’ll get this Queue started! Oh, I forgot to turn on the coffee pot? Details, details.
This is The Queue, where you ask us questions and we’re definitely awake long enough to answer them.
The Queue: Happy Labor day!
Today’s a holiday for a bunch of people! If you’re one of those people — congratulations! I hope you can enjoy a well-deserved day off. Maybe find a nice secluded beach with comfy chairs and blended rum drinks with tiny umbrellas. If it’s not a holiday for you, forget everything I just said except for the drinks with tiny umbrellas, it’s never a bad time for one of those.
While I look for the perfect island to set up camp on, it’s time for — The Queue.
The Queue: Into The Woods
So my wife and I went out into the woods last night and she took pictures of the sky. They’re pretty amazing, because she’s pretty amazing. I’m ridiculously proud of her.
Anyway, here we are, it’s the Queue.
The Queue: Worldwide cold decrease
Y’know, I wrote that title with the intention of riffing on “global cooldown,” but then I read it and thought it might come off as a comment on global warming. It’s a fun title, though, so I kept it. And now you all know it was about the global cooldown, so we’re clear there.
Right. What was I doing? Oh yeah!
Time to Queue up, partner!
The Queue: We are our scars
Lately I think a lot about the passage of time and how each of us are essentially, and constantly, undergoing a process of being carved and sculpted by life, by time and our experiences. We start off unformed, with a whole life of possibility in front of us, but we move forward through time and as we do, we become as much what we didn’t do as what we did. We are what we’ve chosen, what we’ve experienced, what we become is the parts that were cut from us. The dreams we didn’t make real. The moments of loss, of goodbyes unsaid, of love left behind.
We make fun of Illidan sometimes for being a bit emo, but I think I am my scars was the most profound thing anyone’s ever said in World of Warcraft. We are what we’ve lost. Every moment that passes shapes us. We are made up of our choices, of the things we’ve done, and the things we didn’t do.
This is the Queue.
The Queue: It’s Fall?
I know the jokes about it still being April are going to get old one day, but I’m pretty sure that day is sometime in 2021.
This is The Queue, where you ask us questions and we give you answers that hopefully have more meaning than the concept of time does right now.
The Queue: Finally, N’zoth
It’s taken my guild a while, but we’ve finally reached Mythic N’zoth. Now we’ve got a mad dash of trying to squeeze in as many pulls as possible to try and get him before the launch of Shadowlands. Time is definitely not on our side though. Most groups seem to take anywhere from 200 to 300 pulls to get the rhythm of the fight down, and I don’t know if we have that many raid nights left. Plus those giant tentacles really hurt!
While I recover from the thrashing I received, I take you now to — The Queue.
The Queue: Flying the unfriendly skies
I have been playing this game for a long time now, and this is the least dignified way I have ever traveled.
Ow! Unhand me this instant, you ruffian! Aaaahhhhhhh! I didn’t sign up for this!!
The Queue: It is definitely Thursday and not at all Friday
I went out of town over the weekend, and the result is that my sense of time is even more off than usual. But we at least have one thing that’s consistent*: Mitch’s Thursday Queue! Thank goodness it’s not Friday or anything. Boy, would that throw me into a tizzy!
Anyhow, now that we’ve established that it’s definitely Thursday, let’s Queue!
