The Queue

Yep. I like Malfurion. He’s had a lot of awful storylines in WoW, and some really bad choices for his character, but I still like him. Especially now that he has abandoned that whole ‘neutrality’ deal and is openly murdering fools in Darkshore. Give me a lot more of Malfurion wasting people with roots and coming out of the dark as a giant bear to eat people’s faces.

It’s the Queue. Let’s chat.

Today is Day 12 of having a headache. It gets immeasurably painful when I do any sort of physical activity and turns into a dull, regular headache the rest of the time. It’s been real fun. But hey, the doctors insist I’m not dying, so there is that.

Anyhow, that’s as clever an intro as you’re gonna get from me today. Let’s Queue.

I’ve wanted this butterfly for a super long time, so it’s only natural I start off The Queue today with an image of it. Look at that wingspan. Just glorious.

Logging into Classic was certainly interesting, once I managed to make it past the exceptionally long queue times. For now, though, that journey is on pause — but hey, given the sheer number of Night Elves bopping around in the starting zone, I think Teldrassil’s in good hands, right? Meanwhile, we’ve got a bunch of non-Classic questions to get to — and one small one at the end. Let’s get to it, shall we?

Like, just imagine this for a moment.  I know I’ve been anti-nostalgia in the past, but what if — just imagine this, cause it would be so weird — what if Blizzard just decided to go ahead and release vanilla World of Warcraft servers and let people play the game the way it was before The Burning Crusade came out?

I think this could actually work.

Anyway, until that happens, let’s do that Queue we often do.

In yesterday’s comments, ValenceMagi mentioned “psyche” in terms of faking people out. I’ve never been quite sure what the best way to spell that word is, often opting for “sike.” But it got me curious about how YOU spell that word. So, there’s my question for y’all today. You think on that for a bit. In the meantime…

Let’s Queue.

To my great shock, apparently all I needed to do to collect plenty of questions was hop into the comments section and ask for them. I’ve been writing this column on and off since before Wrath of the Lich King was released, and I genuinely had no idea.

Did you ever wait for something for so long, the waiting made it so whatever you were waiting for couldn’t possibly measure up? The anticipation was almost better, almost more fun, than the thing you ultimately ended up with? Where — even if you weren’t excited to begin with — the period you spent waiting meant you just built up the experience in your head so that the reality ended up falling flat?

Just asking for a friend.
