The Queue: Queen for a day
Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!
I haven’t played through Blade’s Edge in years — and I almost forgot about the quest chain where you end up Queen (or King) of the Ogres at the end. I also forgot how horrible it felt to have to then go murder your subjects for quests you haven’t finished yet. I mean yes, I know this makes me a terrible ruler, but you don’t have to spend your last breaths continually pointing it out, you know?
You know what’s a better use of breath? Answering your questions. Let’s do that instead!
The Queue: This is an honest crisis
I think Rossi hit the nail on the head this morning with his post about Vulpera. They are super precious and I desperately want to play one. And with the work Blizzard is putting into their customization options, it’s starting to seem likely they’ll be an Allied Race one day. But when? Where? How? I must know.
And when I do know, I will be faced with a conundrum: what about my equally adorable Gnomes?
Truly, it will be a crisis. (Unless they never become a playable race in which case dang is Blizzard doing a lot of work on NPC races.)
But instead of panicking about this, let’s get on to the Queue.
The Queue: This one was so obvious I don’t even need to say it…
This month’s Splatfest wanted to know what came first: the chicken or the egg. Questionable ink-color choice aside, this one’s Shifty Station — the map that is only available during a Splatfest and changes each time — had a couple areas that locked players in, forced to fight in a death enclosure. It was by far the best iteration of Shifty Station.
Let’s Queue.
The Queue: Deathwing’s return, ugly mounts, 110 boost
When I wrote this Queue I realized something: I never thought I’d be taking quests from Illidan. Something still doesn’t feel right about that. Especially the months it too me to defeat him and the lengths I went to time my shield bash perfectly.
I should be able to do a shield bash emote on him and make ’em flinch. Just for old time’s sake.
The Queue: Antorus is lovely this time of year
So yeah, went along on a raid of Antorus with some friends in my main’s guild — I’m usually not awake for their raid times but I was around today so I went for it. Picked up two piece Tier, upgrade on the shoulder and ring slot and a relic slot upgrade so all in all it was worth it, plus I got to see the fights in a non-LFR way. Normal, so most of the folks there outgeared it and I was essentially being carried, but it was still fun and it made me wish I was awake that late more often.
Plus before the raid I got a polearm I’ve been trying to get since the end of Warlords of Draenor, so I’m happy all around.
It’s the Queue. Folks asked me some solid questions so I’m going to answer them now.
The Queue: I chose…poorly
Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!
I spent a lot of time in Zangarmarsh leveling my Nightborne alt and trying to figure out why I was bugged. See, herb nodes are supposed to scale — meaning that in theory, you can pick any herb node, no matter where you are. This didn’t seem to be the case once I hit Outland, and I figured I had done something wrong. After many days of doing quests and wracking my brain trying to decipher what was wrong with my character, I moved on to Blade’s Edge. There, I promptly discovered I could pick everything in sight. So it turns out my character wasn’t bugged after all — I just managed to pick the one leveling zone that had bugged plant nodes.
Such is my luck. But hey, let’s answer your questions, shall we?
The Queue: Diablo on Nintendo Switch, Legion Archaeology, and Silthus
Welcome to the Queue folks, and let me extend my appreciation to Liz for covering Monday’s edition for me… may her generosity lead to a gnome appearance in a cinematic.
The Queue: I’ve never seen a girl look so good in thick-rimmed glasses before
It’s Tuesday, I’m Mitch.
Queue know what that means. Let’s you this.
The Queue: I’m not even supposed to be here today
Sorry, everyone, but Adam is out today, stuck in some sort of snowy nightmare that’s knocked out his internet. That means you’re stuck dealing with me and you’ll see Adam on Wednesday. So be sure you ask all the really hard questions for him in tomorrow’s Queue, because I’m a super great coworker. :)
And now on to questions!
The Queue: A Farewell to Elves
This Queue is dedicated to my Night Elf Warrior, who became my main in Legion. Before her, my Draenei Warrior was my main in Warlords and Mists of Pandaria, and my Tauren was my main in Cataclysm. One of the reasons I like having so many Warriors is so I can switch between them when an expansion feels thematically more suited to one of them, which I realize is kind of weird but whatever, you do you and I’ll do me.
I rolled a Lightforged and have been leveling him up, and hopefully he’ll be my main in Battle for Azeroth. I honestly have an RP reason why my Nelf is retiring. In the story as I tell it, she was utterly heartbroken by Thalyssra and the Nightborne choosing to join the Horde after all she did to save Suramar and likely she’ll die in the defense of Teldrassil, taking down a lot of Forsaken with her. Until we get there, she’s mostly tooling around Argus happily killing demons with her sidekick Darius Crowley, with no idea what the future will bring.
Just like my previous Warrior ended up retiring on Alt-Draenor, where he advises Yrel sometimes, and my Tauren died fighting Deathwing. Sometimes you gotta find a good way for them to go out. It’s a bit weird for me to keep leveling them as alts after I ‘kill’ them, but whatever, I’m not that consistent. I’m sure my Nelf will get leveled in Battle.
Anyway, here’s the Queue. Let’s get to it.
