So let’s talk about Meraxes gigas, the latest of the Carcharodontosauridae to be described. As you might expect from the gigas on the species name, it was a member of the Giganotosaurinae, the group that contained old Giganotosaurus carolinii herself.

I feel a little bad for Cory. He always tries so hard with his earworms to choose something that’s both catchy, and that I would like, but my daughter has been listening to one Hatsune Miku song on a loop for the past two weeks, so his stellar choices are absolutely not breaking through.

Actually, on second thought, I mostly feel bad for myself.

This is The Queue, where you ask us questions, and we’ll answer. I apologize in advance if I accidently start typing out lyrics in the middle.

In case you missed it, last week Blizzard finally confirmed that Heroes of the Storm would be entering maintenance mode. No new content would be created for it, and the only updates going forward would be to squash any technical issues.

This isn’t exactly shocking, Heroes had been on life support for a long time ever since the cancellation of the official esports scene. The latest hero they released was Hogger, and he came out nearly two years ago! Still, it’s a blow for the dedicated fans of the game.

I don’t know what it was about Heroes that really set it apart for me from all of the other Blizzard games. Maybe it was that I had moments of halfway competent play in it, maybe the smaller community always made it feel like an underdog to root for — maybe it was just that I really love Blizzard’s characters and seeing them get to interact with each other and try on each other’s universes for a moment was just really fun. Whatever the reason, I’m pretty bummed that there won’t be more — it was and will continue to be my absolute favorite Blizzard game.

That won’t stop me from still logging in and playing games though.

As long as Blizzard keeps those servers going I’ll still see you in the Nexus.

While I queue for another ARAM match, it’s time for — The Queue.

Okay, seriously, where did this Friday even come from? There must have been time travel involved. That’s the only explanation for how it’s clearly Tuesday — at latest — but the computer insists it’s Friday. Weird.

Well, regardless of time or date, let’s get to some questions.

Always praise Yogg. (Though social media N’Zoth is a gift we don’t deserve.)

Yes, that’s my Barbarian, dual wielding rainbow swords and crushing demon skulls while wearing a set of sparkling butterfly wings that contain infinity within them.

If the next Diablo game decides it doesn’t have room for this level of whimsy, I will be sad for it, because this is legitimately awesome. I am smashing demons in the face with rainbows. I don’t feel like any further statement can possibly improve on that.

That’s definitely what people call it when you give up and wear a tank top on a 95 degree day, right?

It’s July. It’s Midsummer Fire Festival in WoW and Hearthstone.

But mostly it’s too hot outside so I am staying in with the windows closed and the A/C on. I’m just saying no to beach days because I will burn to a crisp. What Ragnaros couldn’t do, the summer sun can.

We’re nearing the end of Summer Games Done Quick, but that doesn’t mean there’s not plenty to love about the upcoming runs! I, for one, am incredibly excited for everything happening on Saturday. As always, I encourage you to check out the stream, especially if you’ve never given GDQ a watch.
