For this month's D&D game, our party of adventurers has returned to the cosmopolitan city of High Gate after a harrowing trip to an interplanar circus, where they were the primary entertainment.

Sometimes an expansion will have open plot threads that lead into another expansion, sometimes there are story points that lead into a later part of the same expansion, and sometimes there are fun clues that never amount to anything -- yet.

I've written on this subject before, of course -- back in 2015, for example, and boy howdy that was six years ago -- but seeing Reddit user cptshooter put together a timeline of every WoW expansion going back to vanilla showing when each patch dropped shows us that in Shadowlands we're likely going to be sitting through one of the longer gaps between major patches in World of Warcraft history.
