Patch 10.0.5 brings us the Trading Post, a new reward system for World of Warcraft on a monthly rotation (the first one begins February 1) that allows you to earn currency by logging on to WoW during a month as well as completing the Battle Pass itself.

The World of Warcraft  team recently released the Dragonflight content roadmap for 2023, outlining six planned patch releases throughout the year to ensure a consistent stream of updates players can look forward to, including the first patch, arriving today, January 24.

The initial patch of Dragonflight, patch 10.0.5, arrives this week.

In this month’s episode, we dive into the details of Wizard of the Coast’s controversial proposed update to its Open Gaming License that would allow it to control, prohibit, and seize the rights to third-party published content compatible with Dungeons & Dragons.

Otto the Ottuk -- an otter so cool it has its own pair of sunglasses -- is one of the many new mounts added in Dragonflight, and it can be yours with just a little bit of fishing.

Hey, we did it! Then we did it again! My guild has taken its first slightly shaky steps into the Mythic Vault of the Incarnates. Managing to one-shot Mythic Eggnog right as we walked in, and then spending the rest of the night getting beat up by the Primal Council. Who are basically the same fight as they are on Heroic, but all of the usual everything hurts more does, y’know, hurt more. We had one really close wipe with two of the council dead, and the other two at 1-2% health left each, and then we spent the next forty minutes trying to recreate that for our kill.

But we did it! Now we’re 2/8 Mythic and the top guild on the server cluster! I’m not sure who our third target will be, likely Terros, but I’m already not looking forward to that one. Too many rocks.

While I work on sharpening my claws to cut through rock, it’s time for — The Queue!

Boss fights are a crucial pillar of what makes games memorable, we know this, and while “unbeatable” might be a bit hyperbolic, we’ve all faced a boss that put us through the ringer so badly we contemplated life, the universe, and everything -- or at least put the game down for a little bit.

It’s been a delight to meet World of Warcraft’s very first ducks in Dragonflight. But once you meet a new creature in a video game, there’s a good chance you’re going to have to kill it, and perhaps then eat it, meaning maybe ducks aren’t so lucky after all.
