During today's WoW Q&A at BlizzCon, the World of Warcraft developers confirmed Battle For Azeroth would mimic how Legion allowed players to unlock flying.

The Darkmoon Faire has been in game so long that even its fireworks and carnival games seem kind of dull.

Now that Blizzard has removed the Legion Assault achievement from the list of requirements to unlock flying in this expansion, the path to flight is open.

So far, Legion Assaults have been less than popular. The North American Assaults have mostly happened while people are at work or asleep, making them difficult to complete — and even if you can get to one, they're time-consuming and buggy.

The patch 7.2 PTR just went offline for a new build, and when it returns it will feature flying, class mount quests, changes to Mythic+ affixes and rewards, and the Cathedral of Endless Night dungeon.

Just over ten years ago, Burning Crusade ushered in a brand new way to experience World of Warcraft that for better or worse would change the game irrevocably: flying.
