Patch-6.2

Arcane Sanctum: A first look at patch 6.2 Mages

In this week’s Arcane Sanctum, we interrupt our look at Blackrock Foundry for an important announcement. Patch 6.2 is on the PTR and that means we have our first look at what the future holds for mages! First, let’s get this out of the way and just pull off the band-aid: these patch notes contain the sad news that Amplify Magic is going away. Some of you may find this sadder news than others. When I first read the patch notes, my immediate reaction was dismay. I’ve always enjoyed bringing utility to my raid. I liked having a cooldown I could use for the benefit of all. Unfortunately, it seems that Amplify Magic was just a little too beneficial.

Patch 6.2: Timewalking makes older dungeons relevant

One of the constant discussions I've seen in my time covering World of Warcraft is that the game has a host of older content that is still fun and interesting and visually well designed, and all of that legacy content is sadly irrelevant as soon as the next expansion comes along. Well, one of the features of patch 6.2 that aims to change that is Timewalking. And Timewalking seems set to make us actually want to run older content again.

Blood Pact: Patch 6.2 Warlock first thoughts

At first it looked like all I had to write about for the patch 6.2 warlock changes was that Demonology was nerfed pretty hard, but then I found some things like next tier's set bonuses and new demon models. So let's get to it. Mind you, the caveat about the PTR changing is always there, moreso now when we're at the beginning of the PTR.

Patch 6.2 Adventure Guide preview

The Adventure Guide looks new, but it's quite familiar -- it's the old Dungeon Journal with a new splash page of content suggestions. The Adventure Guide, like everything else on the PTR, is a work in progress and could change at any point. The Patch 6.2 notes for the Adventure Guide mention that "more information will be added as development continues."
