Trial of Style — one of the most anticipated micro-holidays — is back in World of Warcraft for the week, and this contest inspires both transmog addicts and non-addicts to take a shot at earning first place for the glory of knowing you look fine as fel.

I know I'm weird, but why worry about it now? Let's not waste time when there's transmog news to consider, my friends.

It's no secret that I like transmog, and so it should come as no surprise that I'm always excited when the Trial of Style comes around, as it is from August 31 to September 4 — that's this week.

Okay, so I love the Trial of Style for a variety of reasons, primarily among them the fact that from now until it ends on March 24 transmog and barber shops cost no gold.

When transmog was first introduced to World of Warcraft with patch 4.3 on November 29, 2011, I looked askance at it -- why would I want to change the appearance of my gear?

The Trial of Style is ending for now -- it's the first time I've given it a try. I missed it last time, and frankly I'm glad I did it this time around.

It's been a busy year for Blizzard as they focused on expanding World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Hearthstone, and Heroes of the Storm.

Trial of Style's debut -- which was supposed to premiere last February, but wound up arriving this past August -- was fun, but one of the main criticisms revolved around its rewards.

It feels like it was only yesterday the Trial of Style took the World (of Warcraft) by storm, and yet, it's already time to say goodbye.
