Warlords Of Draenor
Apocrypha, new Warlords of Draenor short story now available
A new Warlords of Draenor short story was released earlier this evening, and its a good one. Apocrypha was written by Matt Burns, whose other works include Bleeding Sun and The Jade Hunters from the Destination: Pandaria faction series. This tale however, involves the arakkoa, which automatically puts it near the top of the list for favorite short stories as far as I'm concerned.
Know Your Lore: Why the Iron Horde?
One could argue that by the end of the events that play out in 6.0 and 6.1, the Iron Horde has been effectively shut down, backs against the wall, leaving them with no other apparent alternative than to turn to tactics they weren't originally going to use. But the one thing we haven't done is really look at the situation and ask ourselves -- why the Iron Horde to begin with?
Know Your Lore: The unsettling puzzle of Garona Halforcen
In Warlords of Draenor, we meet a different Garona, one whose origins began on this alternate version of Draenor. Oddly enough, no mention is made of her past, a past which was unusual to say the least in our version of history, and it appears that whatever ties she had to Maraad don't exist on this world. Which makes one wonder -- where did she come from?
Encrypted Text: Grading our Level 100 rogue talents
Let's take a moment to dole out some Warlords of Draenor mid-term grades for the newfangled set of toys rogues receive upon hitting Level 100.
The Queue: Of shipyards and submarines
Welcome back to The Queue! Adam Holisky is stepping away from Queue duties to focus on the important job of making the site go, so I will be your host on Thursdays moving forward, while Matthew Rossi will be taking over on Tuesdays. Note that some of our questions do address patch 6.2 and may contain spoilers: if you want to stay completely spoiler-free, today’s last question could be considered spoiler territory. Beware!
Now, let’s get to the questions!
Patch 6.2: No mention of flying in Draenor … yet
Curiously absent from all of the patch 6.2 discussion thus far has been the complete lack of flying.
Patch 6.2: Hellfire Citadel gallery
Hellfire Citadel is the new raid in Patch 6.2, and while there are no boss fights to be had just yet, the PTR server is currently letting players queue for LFR and take a look at the zone. We'd be remiss if we didn't take a peek, and of course we took plenty of screenshots of the interior and exterior of the zone.
Know Your Lore, Tinfoil Hat Edition: Time as a river
We've been told by Nozdormu (who himself was told by Aman'Thul, highfather of the Pantheon of Titans - or so we are told) that there is one true timeline. With the existence of this Draenor, that would seem to be false. But what the Titan meant by one true timeline has never been fully explained.
Breakfast Topic: Do you miss scenarios?
I miss scenarios. I miss them a lot. Introduced in Mists of Pandaria, scenarios were nice little chunks of content that could be run with three people -- and you didn't need to fill any particular roles to complete them.
Totem Talk: A healing shaman in Draenor
Healer and damage dealer, ranged and melee, elements and hitting things with pointy sticks. As a result of trying to be so many things at once, balancing the class became quite a bit of a hard point.
