Every Diablo 3 player receives the warning, "many Nephalem have stood where you are now, but few succeeded in overcoming the trials," from Orek when learning of Greater Rifts, but now a new type of Rift awaits us: the Echoing Nightmare.

Diablo 3 Season 26 has an end date announced, so now we start asking the inevitable question: When can we expect the next season?

Guys, I am generally an utter nerd for lore and story in video games.

You know, I've read a lot of criticism of the story of Diablo 3 over the years, but the moment where Adria betrays the Nephalem and transfers the essence of all seven of the Evils into her own daughter Leah haunts me.

I really wanted to like Brutal Legend.

Diablo 3 Season 25 allowed us to steal the power of the seven Evils who rule the Demonic Host of the Burning Hells, and soon Season 27 will allow us to harness the power of Heaven with the Angelic Crucible. The new season will be rolling out on the patch 2.7.4 PTR, which will begin on July 12 and last 16 days, barring any unforeseen complications — which, of course, why we have test realms in the first place, to find those before they hit live servers.

Seriously what is it about this decade old ARPG that has me blasting my way to Paragon 700 on a character I rolled in Season 26 this week?

I love Diablo 3's Seasons, and I'm enjoying Season 26 right now.

Please note that I am not asking what the best platform is in terms of playing video games -- these are to some degree a matter of taste and thus utterly subjective and it's a lot easier and less contentious to ask people what they like, rather than what they believe to be best.
