The Queue: Summer vibes
I know that it’s not actually Summer yet, but I’ve gotta make sure that I’m ready to hit the beach at a moment’s notice!
While I try and find my tiny beach pail, it’s time for — The Queue!
The Queue: I finally have internet
So yeah, my wife and I moved this week and today — the very Friday you would presumably be reading this Queue — is the first real day of being able to access the internet on my PC. So many updates trying to start all at once. I downloaded the PC beta for Diablo Immortal, and while I think it’s got some issues, like a glaring problem with the controller sensitivity that no amount of tinkering has yet fixed for me, I also think it’s superior to the tablet version. I’ve played both, and I generally prefer the game on PC.
Seriously, the character creation for DI is amazing. That is way more than I was expecting.
Anyway, it’s the Queue, let us do the thing.
The Queue: Always wanting more Bloodborne
Today’s title is inspired both by our first question and the recent (and incredibly annoying) “Bloodborne Remastered” tweet that took off like fire, despite being completely fake. I generally hate those sorts of “jokes” — in which the end result is purely that a bunch of people will be disappointed after having been completely excited — but I digress. We’re here to Queue.
So let’s Queue.
The Queue: Welcome to Westmarch
It’s new game day, my friends, and I am so excited! At long last, Diablo Immortal is here.
And maybe some other stuff happened. Let’s Queue.
The Queue: Murphy’s Law
I’m day 6 into being sick (with 2 negative COVID tests), so I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to go get antibiotics for a sinus infection — any day other than today, of course. Today we have a new patch in WoW and a new mini-set of cards in Hearthstone to cover. I also need to prep both myself and a few outstanding articles for Diablo Immortal’s launch in 2 days. In the meantime, I hope the thunderstorms we have forecasted for today don’t knock out my power! Especially with a forecast in the high 80s!
Oh dear god, I’ve even started using Cory levels of exclamation points.
This is The Queue, which — fun fact — is secretly haunted. No, really! So if you ask us questions we’ll definitely type out an answer but it may mysteriously not show up. It’s a thing.
The Queue: What sound does a large hammer make?
It’s a mystery for sure.
While I try and figure it out, it’s time for — The Queue.
The Queue: I really did not see this coming
I’ve been writing on the internet for a long time now, but Orca obsession is a content curveball you just don’t see coming.
The Queue: Orcinus if you’re nasty
Orcinus Orca, the predatory toothed whale that is the largest member of the Delphinidae, or Dolphins, is one of the world’s best hunters. While not the largest predatory whale — the Sperm Whale or Physeter macrocephalus has that title — it’s fair to say that the title of Killer Whale is one that Orcinus Orca has earned. They are an intelligent pack hunter who range throughout the world’s oceans. You can find Orca in the Arctic, Antarctic, and the tropics, and in the waters between these extremes.
The Queue: She’s riding a cat and there are stars around her
My wife has been playing this mobile game, and last night, she texted me a series of pictures of the art and characters from this game. To put it mildly, they are reminiscent of other games. Like, that header image? I had to crop it to fit, so you’re not really getting the full picture. But trust me, these guys are not even trying to hide it. The Orcs in the game are even worse, but they are far from the worst offenders.
This is the Queue. I’m legitimately fascinated by this game.
The Queue: The Ballad
There’s one in every show, so since Cory was talking so much about placeholders, this is a pretty good spot to put this one.
This is The Queue, where you ask us questions and we’ll take a minute to answer before getting back to vocal warm ups.
