Diablo 4

Game Director Luis Barriga has given us a lot to mull over in the latest Diablo 4 development update.

Druids were first introduced as a playable class in Diablo 2, and they were an immediate player favorite. But they never showed up in Diablo 3, despite the suggestion that they might be added in a hero pack like the Necromancer. But now Druids are making their triumphant return in Diablo 4.

The temptation to answer the headline of this post with a giant yes was irresistable, and yet, I have not simply written yes in giant ten foot tall letters.

We're almost halfway through 2020, and now we know the Diablo 4 team is still hard at work while safely working from home.

So, if you guys all remember 2018 — sometimes I feel like it's been a thousand years since 2018 — Blizzard announced Diablo Immortal at BlizzCon and people who had expected a Diablo 4 announcement instead got...

There is a consensus that Diablo 4 is, in many ways, trying to go back to the roots of the series.

Both Diablo 2 and Diablo 3 had some form of follower characters in the gameplay.

With three classes announced already for Diablo 4 and supposedly five classes total, we're only going to get two more classes in Diablo 4, and clearly there are way more than two classes in the history of the franchise fans would like to see.

We don't know for certain yet, but I cannot seem to make myself imagine a Diablo 4 without Necromancers, especially since I'm fairly convinced that Rathma -- aka Linarian, the son of Lilith and Inarius, the guy who essentially created the idea of Necromancy in the Diablo universe -- seems to be the weird guy in the cinematic who summons Lilith back to Sanctuary.

Amazons pose a very interesting challenge when it comes to Diablo -- or heck, any sort of mythos, really.
