Battle-pets

Blizzard recently made a change to how cat battle pets work in World of Warcraft, allowing them to curl up in your character's lap.

The Midsummer Fire Festival is here, and this year we've got some updates with new toys, pets, and elusive heirloom upgrade items.

There are two battle pets in World of Warcraft that spawn only seasonally — the Snowy Owl, which only spawns during the winter, and the Qiraji Guardling, which only spawns during the summer.

The most recent build to the World of Warcraft patch 6.2 PTR brings four new factions with a bunch of new faction rewards including pets, toys, a mount speed boost, new apexis gear and yes, a new fel raven flying mount.

In addition to Johanna and Kael'thas discovered in an earlier patch, fansite Heroes Nexus has fished up additional patch details about Heroes of the Storm rewards.

This week begins the Darkmoon Faire, which runs from from May 3 until May 10th.

Children's Week has begun in Azeroth, and this year has a few new rewards for players. Sadly, there are no new pets on the table, but there's plenty to be had for your existing pets, and a new toy for your toybox as well.

I didn't really work on pet battles all that much in Mists of Pandaria.

This winter is quickly coming to a close in North America, so your time to tame yourself a Snowy Owl is running out! This battle pet, caught in Winterspring, stops spawning on March 21st.
