There aren't a ton of Heroes of the Storm professional esports events to watch this weekend.

Gamescom is coming to a very exciting conclusion in Europe's regional finals today. Luckily, there's still plenty of Heroes of the Storm esports to keep our hype trains chugging on til Machines of War raider-rolls into the Nexus on September 13th.

After last week's stunning upset by Murloc Geniuses to clinch the first set of tickets from North America to the Fall World Championships at Blizzcon, this weekend is relatively calm in Heroes of the Storm esports.

This weekend there's only one Heroes of the Storm event to talk about: ESL's North America Regional Qualifier in Burbank.

Would it really be a week of Heroes of the Storm esports news without another big roster shakeup in North America?

With Europe's oddly scheduled Dreamhack Valencia regional qualifier winding down well before this goes to print, most of the world's Heroes of the Storm competitive scenes are relatively sleepy this week.

The absolute drop-dead date for submitting Heroes of the Storm team rosters to ESL for the fall in North America before the open qualifiers get under way this week was Thursday.

Just when you think the roster changes are over and you can just move on with a normal Heroes of the Storm esports column, everything gets flip-turned upside down.

This week marks one of my favorite competitions in Europe.
