When I first heard about Amazon's New World MMORPG, the initial pitch described a hard core PVP game, and I could not have been less interested.

Server queues are a launch day traditions with MMOs and Amazon's New World is no exception.

Let's start with a question -- what is the first word that comes to mind when you think of those beautiful Diablo 4 demos from BlizzCon 2019 and clips from BlizzConline?

We've seen World of Warcraft hang on as the top dog of MMOs over the years, weathering challenges from all kinds of other games.

It is not an exaggeration to say that the entirety of my interaction with other humans comes from online sources right now.

As Blizzard and other game studios push further and further into gaming as a social activity with group finders and random grouping, I grow profoundly and deeply anti-social and I play video games to avoid interacting with strangers.

Imagine a Diablo game set in a persistent world, with a capital city and actual dungeons for parties of adventurers to explore.

I still play World of Warcraft, but I tend to do it by myself.

This doesn't have to be about WoW, mind you, it could be about any Blizzard game, but one of you asked in the Queue the other day why World of Warcraft is the greatest MMORPG ever.

Free-to-play Korean MMOs often get looked down on by Western audiences, but this one might deserve a second look.
