Diablo 4

If you've been watching BlizzConline (or reading about it), you've probably heard mention of cross-progression, a feature you'll find in both Diablo 2: Resurrected and Diablo 4.

In the Diablo 4 December 2020 quarterly developer blog, Luis Barraga promised us a new version of the BlizzCon 2019 campfire scene, referencing the class selection window that presented us with the title's first three classes — the Sorceress, Druid, and Barbarian.

If Diablo 4 is not the belle of the BlizzConline news ball, it's definitely not for lack of trying.

In the Diablo: What's Next panel at BlizzConline, game director Luis Barriga gave a lot more information about mounts in Diablo 4, including the ability to personalize them.

We're starting to get our first information about the Diablo 4 Rogue.

Fans wanted some real meat about Diablo 4 at BlizzConline, and they got it: the Rogue will be a playable class in the upcoming game.

I'm not saying that's going to be the case, but it's been a year and then some since the big Diablo 4 reveal at BlizzCon 2019, and even though we've seen numerous Developer Updates on the game, one thing we haven't seen is any news of any new classes being added after the Druid, Sorceress, and Barbarian announced at that time.

If you've been holding on to hope that we'd get an announcement at the upcoming BlizzConline about a 2021 release for Overwatch 2 or Diablo 4, well, the latest Activision-Blizzard investor report has a bit of bad news for you: neither title is expected this year.

December's developer blog for Diablo 4 gave us all sorts of goodies and tidbits on the player skills tree, stats, and itemization, with the latter as the focal point of the blog (and the most requested topic of the year for D4 news).

I'm excited every time we get a Quarterly Update for Diablo 4, despite the fact that these are updates for a game that's not out yet and that could all change at a moment's notice.
