What accessibility improvements would you make to your favorite video games?
World of Warcraft has added quite a few accessibility options over the years, from improved color blind modes to click and mouseover casting -- but that doesn't mean I can't think of a few additional changes that would be very helpful.
What strange lore mysteries are you hoping will pop up again in Dragonflight?
There are several things I want to see covered in the upcoming World of Warcraft: Dragonflight expansion, and not all of them involve dragons.
What World of Warcraft villain had the best overall arc?
Yesterday, I asked about WoW Villains who didn't get as much development as we might have wanted.
Which World of Warcraft villain had the most unrealized potential?
The more I think about the Jailer, the main antagonist in Shadowlands, the more I feel like he didn't end up working out as I'd hoped.
How does music affect a game for you?
To this day, when I hear the original theme that plays behind the World of Warcraft login screen -- you know the one -- I am immediately drawn back to December of 2004, when I would log on to my Human Warrior Marketh (later deleted and rerolled as my Human Warrior Scythos because I didn't like the name Marketh anymore) and run around the Wetlands trying to get to the boat to Kalimdor.
What game tropes do you really respond to?
Fiction has tropes, and a lot of games are an avenue of storytelling -- World of Warcraft has told a lot of stories over the years.
What draws you to play a video game?
I have pretty weird tastes in video games, I suspect.
How would you feel if WoW expansions no longer included new levels?
In a recent interview, Ion Hazzikostas -- World of Warcraft's Game Director -- talked about how to solve the eventual leveling squish problem caused by adding levels with every expansion.
What’s your favorite in-game parody or reference to real life?
Video games are full of real-life references -- some of them are more overt, like WoW's Floyd Pinkus, while others are a little less obvious, like a license plate on a car or a background piece of artwork that reference something a little more niche.
How should games and tie-in media interact?
I was thinking about Lord of the Clans the other day.
