The Queue: How Horrific

There were a few questions about Horrific Visions for me today, and I just want to say that I unabashedly love running them. There are so many hidden things and secrets tucked away in the corners. Did you know that there’s a Wine Vendor in the Stormwind Vision who looks like he’s collecting and barreling blood? He doesn’t do anything other than attack you, but it was a neat little bit of flavor to find. I’ve just completed my first Five Mask run this week in Orgrimmar, and I’m looking forward to getting another full clear done on Tuesday. I cheated and brought a Fire Mage friend though, Combustion makes short work of anything that it’s pointed at. (Side note, did you know that you can use a Mage who has Combustion active as a cooking fire? It’s true!)

While I’m waiting — Let’s Queue!

The Queue: Remember when you broke your foot?

Man, this has been A Week™, huh? Not gonna lie, it’s surreal feeling like I’m living in Contagion or something. I feel like we’re one “mutated strain created in a lab” away from real life turning into a zombie flick. Like I said, it’s surreal.

Enough of that, though. This is The Queue and we’re about to Queue it.

The Queue: But that’s just your opinion, man

Something I try very hard to keep in mind is that, whatever I feel, whatever I truly believe and hold as such, there will always be those who disagree. When it comes to items of subjectivity — items of taste, items of art, items of personal enjoyment — when there are only so many objective facts to guide us, we must be willing to realize that what we think is just what we think.

What I’m saying is, the expansion you loved? Someone else hated it. The raid you loved, the dungeon you loved, the gearing system you loved was someone else’s worst moment ever. That story moment you hold forth as a triumph made someone else quit playing in disgust.

This is the Queue. Let’s share some opinions.

The Queue: Daylight Saving Edition

I grew up in rural Upstate New York — so Upstate we stubbornly called it Central New York, like that doesn’t mean Broadway to everyone else. The house I grew up in was literally across the road from a corn field. As a result I have a lot of love for family farmers, their struggles, and the things they have to do to maintain a living.

But two weeks out of every year… eh.

This is The Queue, where you ask questions and we pretend we’re not too sleepy to answer them until we adjust to the time change.

The Queue: Time keeps on slippin’

The Bronze Dragons are at it again! Stealing time from us and causing untold mischief across the land. Maybe someday we’ll figure out a way to truly save daylight once and for all, but until then we’ll just have to put up with their chronal shenanigans. At least the time on my microwave is finally correct again.

I’m most glad that all of my raiders showed up for our run tonight. N’zoth wasn’t going to beat himself up.

Let’s Queue!

The Queue: Birthday week

Today is my (step) dad’s birthday, and next Tuesday is my youngest brother’s birthday. In between those, we’ll be be having a family get-together to celebrate. I won’t lie, I’m looking forward to it. I have nice gifts for both of them, and I’m especially excited to see my brother’s reaction to his. I realize they’re not technically in the same calendar week, but they’re within seven days of each other, so I’m counting it as a birthday week.

But enough about that. It’s Queue time.

The Queue: Tuesday Party edition

It’s RC’s birthday, and that’s more than enough excuse for a party. After the past few weeks I kinda feel like we need it.

This is The Queue, where you give us questions, and then when we open them there’s just a smaller question and a smaller question until we finally give up on giving a concise answer and it’s mostly cleanup.
