The Queue: Look up

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!

This is your obligatory weekend reminder to take a moment every now and again while questing or doing dungeons or what have you and look up. Sometimes the ceilings and skyboxes are absolutely beautiful, you know? Just take a little quiet moment of serenity in between all the grinding for reputation or gear or Artifact Power or whatever else you’re after. The environmental design in Legion is really pretty.

The Queue: Missing faces

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!

You know, I’m still pretty annoyed that Wrathion hasn’t made an appearance in Legion. I mean, this is the whole reason he was hand-holding us along in Mists of Pandaria. This is the thing he was seriously concerned with, the thing that gave him purpose in that expansion. And suddenly he’s just…gone? I miss the snarky little guy. I hope we see him at some point in Legion, because I don’t think that character deserves to just be abandoned. He was great.

The Queue: Black Friday

Man, Black Friday is just fun to type and say. I’m not a huge fan of runaway consumerism, but when I read the phrase Black Friday I imagine something far more portentous than what we actually get — it sounds like the day the first Space Needle gets destroyed by Martian Separatists or the arrival of the Taklarsaza flesh looms.

Instead, it’s the day people can and will beat you unconscious over who gets that Bratz doll.

Anyway, it’s the Queue. Here we are now.

The Queue: I hate turkey

Just because it’s Thanksgiving doesn’t mean I have to actually eat turkey, does it? Because let me tell you a secret: I hate turkey. I have disliked it since I was a small child, and my Grandma has a very funny story she likes to tell about how sulky I would get when Mom sent me to school with turkey sandwiches. (Grandma, please, I’m 35 now and totally a grown up about these things. Mostly.)

I think I am somewhat more polite about my dislike of turkey these days, in that I usually take a slice with a smile and then cut it up and move it around my plate so no one notices that I am not eating it. That’s my plan today, too.

(Hopefully no one from my family reads my writing. They probably don’t, right?)

But while it’s a holiday here in the States, Queue questions don’t take the day off: let’s get to it.

The Queue: Does Free Will exist?

Y’all talked a lot about free will and predestination and forced corruption in the Warcraft cosmology yesterday. I ended up exercising my free will and am not talking about it at all in this Tuesday’s Queue.

I will say that one of the things I liked about Warcraft III is that Arthas damns himself. Every step of the way, he makes choices, and they lead him step by step to his ultimate fate. Even taking up Frostmourne is a choice he made after being repeatedly warned not to do it. To my mind that’s a lot more interesting than getting shot with a magic red dart that might be a Tear of Elune and turning bad just because.
