Right now, the two games battling for supremacy atop my personal heap of video games I'm trying to play are Diablo 4 and Baldur's Gate 3, while I've sort of taken a break from World of Warcraft for a while (although that gets harder every passing day).

There's been very little news about the upcoming Warcraft Rumble mobile game — in Activision Blizzard's forth quarter 2022 financial results (released on February 6), the game was continuing regional testing and was still in development, but nothing more.

The westernmost region of Kehjistan in Diablo 4 is home to three distinct Strongholds: Alcarnus, the Altar of Ruin, and Omath's Redoubt, all dangerous ruins in the sands.

With a few too many key people out for our Mythic raid, it was time for our once-a-tier achievement run — yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

There was a good batch of achievements this time, including making our own baby Shadowflame elemental, which we promptly killed, and feeding a bunch of snails to a hungry chimera… which we also promptly killed. Hmm, I’m sensing a pattern here. At least we didn’t kill the neutral Dracthyr named Nutraal! Although we tried to get his brothers in the Forgotten Experiments to try their best at killing him, I don’t know if that’s much better.

Best achievement this time around is We’ll Never See That Again, Surely simply for the probable set-up for an achievement next expansion called “Who could’ve seen this coming? Not us, surely!”.

Now while I apply some burn cream to my legs after riding this lava manta ray, it’s time for — The Queue!

The Strongholds within the Dry Steppes in Diablo 4 are particularly challenging, overrun with cannibals, bandits, and Diablo's ever-present demonic hordes.

I've been playing Baldur's Gate 3 and Diablo 4 and, man, if you'd told me around 25 years ago that the two biggest games of 2023 would be a Baldur's Gate game and a Diablo game, I probably would have actually believe you -- which isn't something that could be said of most series.
