Earlier this week, Chris Metzen announced his retirement from Blizzard.

You know, with all the chatter about Blizzard's possible move into mobile gaming, everyone's been talking about the possibility of seeing the company's original RTS titles make a reappearance.

I'm having one of those weeks where I'm obsessed with a particular piece of music -- this time, it's the soundtrack from Auchindoun, which contains all the sweeping parts of the login screen track along with a lot of eerie chanting.

Okay, so here's the thing -- with all the new genre TV shows available from sources like Netflix, and the Warcraft movie about to hit theatres, and Activision-Blizzard starting their own studio, I find myself wondering...what kind of shows are they going to make?

Blizzard tipped its hand that it is planning to recreate Warcraft 3, Diablo 2, and the original StarCraft for modern gaming rigs with a new job listing for a Senior Software Engineer.

StarCraft's Protoss always seem so serious, but Artanis — the latest Warrior to join the Heroes of the Storm rotation — has a voiceover that proves even they can have a sense of humor (at least sometimes).

It's been twelve years since a new installment of the Warcraft series from the top-down RTS perspective.  Not surprising, of course -- it's long been the accepted and stated wisdom that World of Warcraft provides pretty much all of the Warcraft the company wants.  But it turns out that Blizzard isn't quite so dead set on closing that door after all, as Starcraft 2 producer Tim Morten outright stated at Gamescom that the team will be sitting down and discussing the possibility of a Warcraft RTS following the release of Legacy of the Void.

One of the core tenets of multiple Blizzard games is the immersive role that the player assumes within the game.
