BlizzCon

With almost -- or perhaps only -- three weeks to go until BlizzConline, it's time to start thinking about all the wonderful news and previews we'll see at the (free!) online event.

Next month, we're getting BlizzConline, a completely virtual BlizzCon postponed from late last year due to the COVID pandemic.

2020 may have come and gone without a BlizzCon, but that hasn't stopped Blizzard from putting together a virtual event, "BlizzConline," coming next month -- it also hasn't stopped the community from coming together.

Save your gold and your Arcane Dust: BlizzConline will be free to any and all viewers.

So we have just learned that in the absence of their annual BlizzCon fan event/exposition/game announcement/demo/rock concert/eardrum-damaging lobby party, Blizzard has settled on February 19-20 for an online edition of the show.

Big conventions are either delaying, canceling, or going fully online -- conventions like PaizoCon and the recently announced Homecon being fully online affairs now.

It's official: We're going to be experiencing one of the few years without a BlizzCon.

Update: Blizzard has officially announced that BlizzCon 2020 is canceled, though we may see a virtual event of some kind early next year.

BlizzCon -- Blizzard's annual celebration of its games and community of players -- is still up in the air this year, according to a recent blog post from the event's executive producer.

BlizzCon 2020 has happened around the usual time it has for the past several years.
