The Queue: Surprise Mitch

No need to adjust your eye holes, dear readers — you really are reading a Tuesday Mitch Queue right now. Why? Because my flight leaves tomorrow morning, and, on top of general exhaustion from that, I didn’t think it would be very smart to write The Queue after an hours-long brewery tour. Sure, it might have been amusing — but it would not have actually been a good idea.

So, with that out of the way and BlizzCon very, very close… let’s Queue.

The Queue: By fire be unnerved

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!

Number one, I’m very excited that Deathwing has finally made it to Heroes of the Storm. Number two, can we just talk about those flame-engulfed wings? I feel like if that had come flying at me in Cataclysm, I would’ve been a little more terrified. I mean, he set the zone on fire when he did his flyby and that was terrifying enough, but if it’d been accompanied by literal beating flame that would’ve been really cool.

Or, well, not cool. Hot. You know what I mean. I know what you mean, because I’m here to answer your questions. Let’s get to that!

The Queue: I’m not stressed, you’re stressed

If you’ve never had a small kid you may not know the incredible breadth of activities that goes on during Halloween. We’ve gone to the pumpkin patch, we had events with candy in the trunk of our car, we had to bake some gross-looking food for Girl Scouts, and this weekend we’re going to the train museum’s Halloween event, because why not!

The good thing is, most of this was planned in advance, so we have all our ducks in a row. Yes, being able to plan things in advance and get organized really helps things move more smoothly when everything else is chaos. Things like schedules are nice to have, for instance. Yep, scheduling things is good. Always useful to have a schedule.

Let me just reschedule all the BlizzCon planning meetings we missed over the past 2 weeks now that the schedule is finally out and let’s get to Queuein’.

The Queue: Having a hissyfit

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!

Overwatch really killed it on the Halloween skins this year — I can’t get over Lucio’s hair. Or…well, snakes. Snair? Whatever you call it, it’s absolutely glorious. I can’t wait to see what they pull out for the holiday skins this year, I have a feeling they’re going to be amazing. You know what else is amazing? Your questions — let’s get to answering those, shall we?

The Queue: There’s a better reality out there, somewhere

I think I’ve talked about Fortnite enough here (and on Twitter) that y’all know I enjoy the game. And, assuming you weren’t living under a rock and that rock somehow also didn’t get sucked into a black hole, you’re probably aware that the game recently had a world-ending event that led to nearly two full days of the game being offline with no official word from Epic on when it would return.

Well, the game’s back, and the map is brand new — but here’s the thing. There are a couple of areas on the new map with the same name and very similar layouts as the old map. And given the events preceding the black hole, it seems very likely that, canonically, this new map isn’t a new island, per se, but rather the same island as before… but in a different reality. The map is much prettier. It’s a lot more enjoyable. In short, it’s better without feeling too far from the island home of yore. So y’know maybe, just maybe, that means that there’s an alternate reality out there where things are better, brighter, and more fun. I’ll leave it up to you to decide if that’s a comfort.

Anyhow, let’s Qyeye.
